Meet at Hofu Station and depart for Suo Oshima

Kuga Port Setouchi Cruise to observe sanderlings

The Seto Inland Sea off Suo Oshima is known as a habitat for sanderlings, and if your timing is good, you may see them during the 50-minute cruise from Kuga Port to Maejima and back. During the cruise, the captain of the boat will assist you in your search for the snapping turtles, so please enjoy the pleasant sea breeze as you watch for the snapping turtles that can only be seen on Suo-Oshima, located in the Seto Inland Sea.

Arrival at Setonoututu Lunch at Cafe Restaurant "Yue Yue"

After being soothed by the sunfish on the cruise, it is time for lunch at "Yue Yue", a restaurant overlooking the Seto Inland Sea located in Setonoututu. You can enjoy a Japanese lunch featuring ingredients purchased directly from farmers and fishermen in Suo Oshima, fish caught that day, and other seasonal ingredients in a relaxing space with the sea in front of you.

Experience sap at Tachimachi Rental

After lunch, rent a sap at "Tachimachi Rental" located in Setonoututu and enjoy marine sports to the fullest. The Seto Inland Sea has calm waves, making it easy for even beginners to try sap. Enjoy the magnificent Seto Inland Sea, whether you choose to take a leisurely stroll along the water's edge or actively ride the waves. We are planning to rent other marine sports equipment in the near future.

Relax and heal your body in the sauna

After exercising your body in the sap, relax and relieve your fatigue in the sauna. Setonoututu is equipped with showers for guests only and a barrel sauna, the first of its kind in Yamaguchi Prefecture. After the sauna, the outdoor air and water baths provide a luxurious space where you can feel the sea breeze . We hope that you and your partner will enjoy this special time together while gazing at the magnificent ever-changing scenery.

Dinner with seasonal ingredients

A variety of Japanese dishes that reflect the four seasons, using only the most delicious seasonal ingredients. Using local seasonal ingredients, our Japanese dishes are prepared using the freshest ingredients of the day, so you can enjoy dishes that match the season. Not only the ingredients, but also the seasonings such as salt, miso, and soy sauce are all produced in Suo Oshima. We hope you will enjoy to your heart's content the unique Japanese cuisine that can only be found here, where each dish has been carefully prepared with the utmost care.

In our modern rooms designed with "small luxuries" in mind, you can feel the special passage of time at the resort. Whether you are reflecting on the day's events or planning tomorrow's plans, you can relax in a luxurious space for an enjoyable trip.

How to spend the second day

For breakfast, we offer Japanese dishes based on the concept of "delicious grilled fish," "delicious miso soup," and "delicious rice," using mainly ingredients from Yamaguchi Prefecture. We will provide you with a special start to the day with a substantial meal made with locally sourced ingredients. Enjoy a uniquely luxurious breakfast with a view of the ocean in front of you.

Check out and visit Itsukushima Shrine on Suo Oshima

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and visit Itsukushima Shrine on Suo Oshima. Itsukushima Shrine on Suo-Oshima is one of the 500 shrines on the island, which is a branch of the main shrine on Miyajima in Hiroshima. The torii gate standing on the sea offers a mysterious and spectacular view of the beautiful blue Seto Inland Sea with the red of the gate. Enjoy a memorable photo shoot for the two of you while being soothed by a view that is hard to find anywhere else.

Lunch at Samurai Tea House Hikoe-mon

After sightseeing Itsukushima Shrine, have lunch at "Samurai Teahouse Hikoe-mon" where you can enjoy Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, from set menus to sashimi, using fresh mountain and sea ingredients. Particularly popular is the mikan nabe (mandarin orange hot pot), which uses oranges, a specialty of Suo-Oshima. We hope you will enjoy this gem of a dish, in which the delicacies of the Seto Inland Sea dance in a special broth spiced with tangy mikan pepper.

Take a walk on the island bridge

After enjoying lunch, take a walk on the Oshima Oshima Bridge, which is the gateway to Suo Oshima and connects the island to the mainland. On the 1,020 meter walk while listening to the sound of the waves, you can watch the whirlpools of the torrents below you. Enjoy a leisurely stroll while feeling the sea breeze.

Enjoy sweets at Setouchi Jam's Garden & Farm

At Setouchi Jam's Garden & Farm, you can enjoy delicious sweets and drinks made with handmade jams from seasonal fruits grown on Suo-Oshima. The handmade jams, which make the most of the fruit's unique characteristics, are also available for sale, making them perfect souvenirs.
